NOTICE OF OPEN HOUSE AND PUBLIC MEETING for the
ADELAIDE METCALFE COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PLAN

TAKE NOTICE that the Township of Adelaide Metcalfe is considering a By-law to designate a Community Improvement Project Area and adopt a Community Improvement Plan (CIP) under Sections 17 and 28 of the Planning Act. The proposed by-law affects all lands in the Township.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF BY-LAW

The Township of Adelaide Metcalfe has prepared a Community Improvement Plan (CIP) under Section 28 of the Planning Act. This Plan will encourage improvements to public and private buildings/lands in strategic areas of the Township through a combination of financial incentives and municipal leadership initiatives. Pursuant to the requirements of the Planning Act, this plan must be adopted and implemented by way of by-law. The By-law will designate the entire Township of Adelaide Metcalfe as a Community Improvement Project Area and adopt the Township of Adelaide Metcalf CIP.

You are invited to attend and participate in one or both of the following sessions detailed below.

OPEN HOUSE – SEPTEMBER 19, 2022, at 6:00 PM (in-person & virtual)

The open house will provide more information to the public as well as allow for feedback and questions on the draft community improvement plan and community improvement plan by-law. You may participate in-person at the Township Council Chambers located at 2340 Egremont Drive, Strathroy, or virtually via Zoom on the above date and time.

If you wish to participate virtually, please provide your name and contact info to @email or by phone to 519.247.3687 Ext. 8203 by no later than 4:00 PM on September 16, 2022.

 

 

PUBLIC MEETING – OCTOBER 3, 2022, at 6:00 PM (in-person & virtual)

The public meeting will allow the public to make formal written and/or oral submissions on the draft community improvement plan and community improvement plan by-law, prior to Council consideration. You may participate in-person at the Township Council Chambers located at 2340 Egremont Drive, Strathroy, or virtually via Zoom on the above date and time.

If you wish to participate virtually, please provide your name and contact info to @email or by phone to 519.247.3687 Ext. 8203 by no later than 4:00 PM on September 30, 2022.

WHAT IF I CANNOT ATTEND THE OPEN HOUSE OR PUBLIC MEETING?

If you are unable to attend the open house or public meeting but still wish to make a submission, please contact Mike Barnier, Clerk & Manager of Legislative Services, by phone at 519.247.3687 Ext. 8203 or email at @email prior to October 3, 2022.

SHOULD YOU WISH TO MAKE A WRITTEN SUBMISSION regarding the draft community improvement plan and/or community improvement plan by-law, please contact Mike Barnier; by phone at 519.247.3687 Ext. 8203; by email at @email; or by written submission to the Township Office at 2340 Egremont Drive - RR #5, Strathroy, ON, N7G 3H6.

IF YOU WISH TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE DECISION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ADELAIDE METCALFE in respect of the By-law, you must make a written request to Mike Barnier by email at @email or by written submission to the Township Office at 2340 Egremont Drive - RR #5, Strathroy, ON, N7G 3H6.

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Township of Adelaide Metcalfe to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Adelaide Metcalfe before the proposed community improvement plan by-law is approved, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Adelaide Metcalfe before the proposed community improvement plan by-law is approved, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
